Drama on the Moors

"My end clients were 'over the moon' with the finished film. It neatly conveys all of our required messages in an entertaining way which ensures the audience don't feel 'dictated to'. Despite a tough filming schedule with many unpredictable variables including wildlife, a rugged outdoor environment and the moorland climate, ST16's professionalism and highly experienced team made it an easy, productive and fun process."
Amanda Anderson, Anderson PR Ltd.

To get across the key messages to adults and children alike, we wrote and created a promotional drama. A young boy, separated from his school party and lost on the moors, is helped by the (real) gamekeeper Fred to find his way back. During their encounter the boy learns many of the moorland's fascinating secrets – and the audience come to appreciate the key role of the gamekeeper in maintaining a natural balance and protecting many species including ground-nesting birds like grouse. Using Steadicam, we ensured a consistently smooth shot and exciting sense of dynamic movement even when walking over rocky terrain. The film is now showing in a dedicated projection theatre in Edale's brand new visitor centre.
