An additional complication was to make sure that entrants understood the complexity, thought and fairness extended by the exhibition and awards – a separate requirement from the sponsorship angle. Our solution: two different DVDs.
The first explained the process, and ran on a loop on a plasma screen in the gallery while the exhibition was still running. It was also sent out to all winners. The second contained both the process and a special 'why should I sponsor' film - featuring current sponsors talking positively about why they thought 'Open Art' was important and the benefits that sponsorship had brought to their organisation.
All great fun – we thoroughly enjoyed it!
