Client: The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The DofE works with young participants and volunteers all over the UK taking part in activities from snowboarding to donkey grooming. Our challenge was to pack as many exciting activities as we could into a fun DVD package that would represent the vibrancy and inclusiveness of the DofE.
Filming the length and breadth of Britain, we created three high quality promotional films on a DVD that could be retailed to regional divisions. A diverse range of participants, from proud disabled volunteers to young offenders, present each film, describing the positive impact DofE has had on their lives.
Input from focus groups helped us shape the content throughout the process to ensure it was right on the wavelength of a young target audience.
The DVD has been a resounding success, far exceeding its projected key performance indicators. In the first two months, a record 660 DVDs have been sold and a further 4,000 are now projected for the next 6 months. The DofE had previously aimed to retail 1000 DVDs in the first six months of launch.
